Before Opening
Artist: Attila Galbovy
Curator: Alina Buga
July 30 - August 15. 2015
The map of the contemporary art is saturated by unfinished-artistic objects (works) and unrealized exhibitions because of external reasons, citing financial problems or infrastructure problems and so on. Or – just because they occur as unrealized – they disappear for a while, being permanently erased of this map. Attila Galbovy exemplifies such a situation through a random media installation, reproducing fictional state and contradictory state, documented and mixed for the first time in the simulated perimeter of the gallery from his own studio. It is about the intention of visualization and personalization of transpersonal mental state – a scrutiny that is prevented even by alleged people. The up-to-date past is transposed into the present and the reality appears like waking up from a nightmare through which the characters prevent the continuance of the story.
BEFORE OPENING is an exhibition about an exhibition (an official view about an unrealized exhibition) – an installation composed of a multifarious epic images and objects, transposed into a psychedelic scenario – an inventory of simulacra transgressed almost cynical (sarcastic), both monstrous and comical – a kind of Mandala – a race between drawing and photography – the continuous installation and reinstallation that are manifested outside conceptual exigencies or outer of current trends in contemporary art.
